Pledge of Allegiance of the United States

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."


In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Today it reads:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Section 4 of the Flag Code states:

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute."

DAY 15 - DAILY PRAYER (FAMILIES) - JUNE 8, 2010






To Have Strong Families

Father, I pray for all my brother's and sister's

Help them train their children in the way they should live, and give the children hearts to honor and obey their moms and dads. May the fathers not exasperate their children but bring them up to understand how You want them to live. (1 Corinthians 11:3; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1,4)

May every husband love his wife as he loves himself, as Christ loved and was willing to give Himself up for the church. Help husbands not be harsh with their wives but be considerate, treating them with respect so their prayers won’t be hindered. (Ephesians 5:33a, 25; Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7)

May each wife respect her husband and submit to him as to the Lord, as the church submits to Christ. As all of us are to do, may they submit to one another out of reverence for Christ, each looking to the interests of the other. (Ephesians 5:33b, 22, 21; Philippians 2:4) Keep their families strong and together; help them to be givers and not takers.

Wife and children are the sources of patriotism, and conjugal and

DAY 14 - DAILY PRAYER (PRISONERS) - JUNE 7, 2010







PRAYER IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT-INSIDE OR OUTSIDE PRISONS



"Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!.Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the most High.Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and tore apart their bonds. For He has broken the gates of brass, and chopped
down the bars of iron." (Ps 107:8, 10, 11, 13, 14).

Have you ever found yourself thinking that convicted felons deserve to be
in prison, and because our crimes aren't so serious, or we haven't been
caught committing them we are "good" people in comparison? However, all of us have been born into the prison of sin, and until and unless we invite
Jesus Christ to come into our lives and set us free, we are just as much
prisoners as convicted felons! As believers and followers of Jesus Christ,
however, we have the privilege of praising the Lord for His goodness in
redemption and praying for those imprisoned to find Him as their Key of
Release, even behind prison walls!


"Father, we pray that Your Holy Spirit brings conviction
of guilt as to sin, righteousness and judgment to those bound in
prisons. (John 16:8-11). On behalf of the addicted, we pray they
learn to break every stronghold; demolish arguments and every
pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of You, Lord God. May their every thought be taken captive in obedience to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5).

May believers dedicate ourselves not only to pray, but also to fast. May our times of fasting be pleasing to You, Father God; may they set the oppressed free and break every ungodly yoke of bondage. (Isaiah 58:6).

May all prisoners seek to know, love, and serve You, the true and only God, with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength (Deuteronomy 4:29; Mk 12:30) and place their trust in Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord. (2Pet 1:11).

That those who are enslaved to carnal desires be set free and instead hunger and thirst for Your Word, dear God, and the righteousness of Christ. (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 6:33). May each learn to be a mighty man or woman devoted to knowing You, and making You known while incarcerated, and when released return to community, church, family, and friends with the same dedication! (Mt 11:27-30; 28:19, 20).

"Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the
LORD his God: Who made Heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is
therein. He keeps truth for ever, and executes judgment for the oppressed.
He gives food to the hungry, and the LORD looses the prisoners." (Ps
146:5-7).

are created free, so it seems to me the founders of this movement
were inspired by the thought that all men were worthy to hear the
Word, worthy to be sought out and brought to salvation. It was this
motive that took their preachers among the poor and neglected, even
to criminals in the jails. As our ideal has been to bring all men to freedom,
so their ideal was to bring all men to salvation...

DAY 13 - DAILY PRAYER (GOVERNMENT) - JUNE 6, 2010






Father, in heaven, Creator of all things, we ask for your guidance and direction. Our nation was created on the foundations and principles of the Word of God.  Now, some are trying to take that away from us. Those in authority over our government and even people who aren’t in authority, these people were all created by you.  I know that you love each and every one of them, but are not pleased with some of their actions and words. For those who aren’t walking in Your ways, turn their hearts toward their Creator.   Bind the minds of every gov’t official in our nation, whether they work for the local, state, or national govt, to the mind of Christ.  So that when they make decisions for our nation, they will be decisions made on Godly principles, even though they may not realize it.  Your Word tells us that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.  For the Godly men and women who are currently in office, lead them not into temptation to go against your ways, but give them tenacity and endurance to finish their race in accordance with the Word of God.  Give them the strength and courage to stand firm! Do not leave them nor forsake them, as you have promised.

As the Godly people of our nation humble themselves right now to pray, you promise that you will heal our land. Heal our land, Lord – destroy everything that sets itself up against you and your Word!  And, replace it with all things that are good, pure, lovely, right, virtuous, and acceptable in your sight.

Continue to guard the hearts and minds of all the believers in our nation. Protect each of them mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually as they continue to walk in Your ways.  I know that you hear our prayer Father and I know that you will answer our prayer.  May you receive all the glory for the good and wonderful things that are happening in our nation!  In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

THE SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY:

Dr. Lowry said something about my having certain convictions
as to a God in Heaven and an Almighty power. Well, I don’t think
anyone needs a great deal of credit for believing what seems to me to
be obvious...Now it seems to me that this relationship between a
spiritual faith, a religious faith, and our form of government is so clearly
defined and so obvious that we should really not need to identify a
man as unusual because he recognizes it....Let us just come down to
modern times since the Reformation. Milton asserted that all men are
born equal, because each is born in the image of his God.
Our whole theory of government finally expressed in our
Declaration, you will recall, said-and remember the first part of the
Preamble of the Declaration was to give the reasons to mankind why
we had established such a government: “Man is endowed by his
Creator.” It did not assert that Americans had certain rights. “Man” is
endowed by his Creator-or “All Men”...So this connection is very, very
clear. And no matter what Democracy tries to do in the terms of
maximum individual liberty for an individual, in the economic and in
the intellectual and every other field, no matter what it tries to do in
providing a system of justice, and a system of responsibility-of public
servants to all the people-and identifying the people as the source of
political power in that government, when you come back to it, there is
just one thing: it is a concept, it is a subjective sort of thing, that a man
is worthwhile because he was born in the image of his God...
The challenges of today...are of two kinds, one from within...as
to the worth-whileness of this form of government...and on the other
side we are attacked by the Communists who in their own documents
state that capitalism-Democracy-carries within itself the seeds of its
own destruction...We are under tremendous attacks...
Fundamentally, Democracy is nothing in the world but a
spiritual conviction, a conviction that each of us is enormously valuable
because of a certain standing before our own God. Now, any group
that binds itself together to awaken all of us to these simple things...is,
to my mind, a dedicated, patriotic group that can well take the Bible in
one hand and the flag in the other, and march ahead.

Webster says to revile is "to use abusive or contemptuous language in speaking to or about; call bad names."  A definition of curse is "a profane, obscene, or blasphemous oath, imprecation expressing hatred, anger, vexation."

Father, we confess that we have tried to be careful to never revile You, but we have not been careful to not curse our rulers/leaders.  We ask that You forgive us for saying words that actually curse our leaders and with Your help, we choose to watch our mouths so we will not continue this action.  We commit to pray for our leaders and not curse them.

SOCIETY IN WASHINGTON, D.C:

More than six centuries ago, when...there was much ignorance,
much wickedness and much warfare...when the condition of the
common people appeared to be sunk in hopelessness...when the speech
of men was too often profane and vulgar, until the earth rang with the
tumult of those who took the name of the Lord in vain, the foundation
of this day was laid in the formation of the Holy Name Society...It
sought to rededicate the minds of the people to a true conception of
the sacredness of the name of the Supreme Being. It was an effort to
save all reference to the Deity from curses and blasphemy, and to
restore the lips of men to reverence and praise...This is the beginning
of a proper conception of ourselves, of our relationship to each other,
and our relationship to our Creator....

The mind does not unfold, the creative faculty does not mature,
the spirit does not expand, save under the influence of reverence...It is
along the path of reverence and obedience that the race has reached
the goal of freedom, of self-government, of a higher morality, and a
more abundant spiritual life...He who gives license to his tongue only
discloses the contents of his own mind. By the excess of his words he
proclaims his lack of discipline...

The worst evil that could be inflicted upon the youth of the
land would be to leave them without restraint and completely at the
mercy of their own uncontrolled inclinations. Under such conditions
education would be impossible, and all orderly development
intellectually or morally would be hopeless. I do not need to picture
the result. We know too well what weakness and depravity follow
when the ordinary processes of discipline are neglected...

The very first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence
asserted that they proposed “to assume, among the powers of the
earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and
of nature’s God entitle them.” And as they closed that noble
document...they again revealed what they believed to be the ultimate
source of authority by stating that they were also “appealing to the
Supreme Judge of the World for the rectitude of ”...their “intentions.”
When finally our Constitution was adopted, it contained
specific provision that the President and members of the Congress
and of state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officials, should
be qualified for the discharge of their office by oath or affirmation. By
the statute law of the United States, and I doubt not by all States, such
oaths are administered by a solemn appeal to God for help in the
keeping of their covenants.

I scarcely need to refer to the fact that the Houses of Congress...open
their daily sessions with prayer. The foundations of our independence and
our Government rests upon basic religious convictions. Back of the
authority of our laws is the authority of the Supreme Judge of the
World, to whom we still appeal for their final justification...

The principle of equality...follows inevitably from belief in
the brotherhood of man through the fatherhood of God. When once
the right of the individual to liberty and equality is admitted, there is
no escape from the conclusion that he alone is entitled to the rewards
of his own industry...

It seems to me perfectly plain that the authority of law, the
right to equality, liberty and property, under American institutions, have
for their foundation reverence for God. If we could imagine that to be
swept away, these institutions of our American government could not
long survive...But I know they will continue to stand. We may perish,
but they will endure. They are founded on the Rock of Ages.

DAY 10 - DAILY PRAYER (GULF OF MEXICO SPILL) - JUNE 3, 2010









O God our Father, maker of Heaven and Earth.


We beseech Your mercy and grace in this time of trouble in the Gulf of Mexico.  Lord, that You would hear our petitions for the oil spill to cease.  You have provided abundantly for the needs of America through these oil reserves, but through our carelessness and exploitation we have failed You.  Please forgive our transgressions against You in the depths of the sea, and move in a mighty way to correct our missteps.  Heal the wound in the sea floor with the precision of a surgeon, as only You can.  Reclaim the purity and life of the Gulf, and once again make it a source of nourishment and pleasure to Your people.  We also implore You to comfort those who have lost loved ones to this tragedy.   Fill their hearts with joy, not sadness, and give then Your strength in the days ahead.  Supply the financial needs of the fishermen and tourist industry that suffer because of this disaster.  Impart Your wisdom upon the men and women who are tasked with managing these great resources, and aid them in devising better ways to utilize Your generous gifts from the sea.  We wait in hope for You Lord, as You are our great help in times of trouble, and our comforter in times of despair.

Please help the teens of america, to put their main focus on you, to set their eyes upon you.
Lord, show them how to resist peer-pressure.
God, we resist anything that has to do with the flesh. we thank you Lord Jesus, that, we yearn for faith, boldness, courage,perseverance, love, holiness, and your comforting rest-full peace.We thank you Lord that you show the Holy Spirit how to work inside of us,
we thank you Lord that we are changing and becoming a holy and righteous generation, we thank you Jesus, we are on the Heaven Highway!
And, show them to even minister to thier friends. Show them to be BOLD about CHRIST! Give us, (america's teens) more of you Lord! Reveal your face, show your glory!
