June 30
Father God,
We come to you from our darkened home with great thanks for Your protection from the storms. Father, as many in our nation have gone through trials and tribulations, we also join them through weathering today's storm in Lancaster, Ohio. Although our power is out, we rejoice in Your ever-present light! We claim victory through Your son over death, and rejoice over a chance to live to see another sunrise tomorrow. We thank you for diverting disaster that could have come from the sky in way of a funnel cloud, but was made simply strong winds to spare us utter disaster.
Lord, as others in our nation go today without shelter, or food, or proper clothing, we ask that you would inspire us to share our numerous blessings. Help us to share hope through Your love and the redemption of sin. Help our hearts to be truly thankful for Your blessings, and may we never forget the lesson of faith that You teach us in the storms of life.
In Jesus' powerful name we pray. Amen!

40DAYPRAYER4USA
Lancaster, Ohio
Thank you again for joining with us in prayer for this nation. The Lord has placed a unique burden on my heart for 2014, calling forth prayer for our nation; one state at a time. We will engage in 50 days of prayer, as we lift up the government, people, needs, and special prayer concerns of each of our 50 states that comprise this great nation....ONE NATION UNDER GOD! May our Almighty Father bless you and protect you, and May God Bless America!
Pledge of Allegiance of the United States
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Today it reads:
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Section 4 of the Flag Code states:
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute."
