To Have Strong Families


Father, I pray for all my brother's and sister's.  

Help them train their children in the way they should live, and give the children hearts to honor and obey their moms and dads. May the fathers not exasperate their children but bring them up to understand how You want them to live. (1 Corinthians 11:3; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1,4)

May every husband love his wife as he loves himself, as Christ loved and was willing to give Himself up for the church. Help husbands not be harsh with their wives but be considerate, treating them with respect so their prayers won’t be hindered. (Ephesians 5:33a, 25; Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7)

May each wife respect her husband and submit to him as to the Lord, as the church submits to Christ. As all of us are to do, may they submit to one another out of reverence for Christ, each looking to the interests of the other. (Ephesians 5:33b, 22, 21; Philippians 2:4) Keep their families strong and together; help them to be givers and not takers.

DAY 4 - DAILY HISTORY - AMERICAN MINUTE FOR MAY 28, 2011

American Minute for May 28th:


He left Yale for four years to fight in the Revolutionary War. After graduation, he became a lawyer and taught school in New York. Dissatisfied with the children's spelling books, he wrote the famous Blue-Backed Speller, which sold over one hundred million copies. After twenty-six years of work, he published the first American Dictionary of the English Language. His name was Noah Webster, and he died MAY 28, 1843. In his 1788 essay, "On the Education of Youth in America," printed in Webster's American Magazine, Noah Webster wrote: "Select passages of Scripture...may be read in schools, to great advantage. In some countries the common people are not permitted to read the Bible at all. In ours, it is as common as a newspaper and in schools is read with nearly the same degree of respect." Noah Webster continued: "My wish is not to see the Bible excluded from schools but to see it used as a system of religion and morality." In his History of the United States, 1832, Noah Webster wrote: "The brief exposition of the Constitution of the United States, will unfold to young persons the principles of republican government...The genuine source of correct republican principles is the Bible, particularly the New Testament or the Christian religion." Noah Webster continued in The History of the United States, 1832: "All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible."

Father in Heaven,


As the nation stands torn and in trauma from disastrous tornadoes, flooding, earthquakes, and other calamities, we fall to our knees in fervent prayer.  We seek you in our sorrow, and in our daily need for food, shelter, and hope for the future.  Daily we have buried the bodies of those that have gone before us, and continue to work to repair the wounds and agony of those who escaped death's call.  Lord, only you alone can give us a sense of peace and comfort in our national suffering, and our only hope lies in your precious gift of eternal salvation of those who accept your Son.  We call upon you to provide a great covering of your wings over our nation, a mighty hand of protection from the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, and the plague that destroys at midday. We cry out “The LORD is our refuge,” and we make the Most High our dwelling.  Father, command Your angels concerning this nation,  guarding us in all Your ways.  We shall say of the Lord;  “Because these people love me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue them; I will protect them, for they acknowledge my name. They will call on me, and I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble,  I will deliver them and honor them. With long life I will satisfy them and show them my salvation.”  We cry out to You now Father to rescue us from trouble, and to provide us shelter from disaster.

DAY 3 - DAILY HISTORY - AMERICAN MINUTE FOR MAY 27, 2011

American Minute for May 27th:

    Twentieth-Century Fox made a motion picture in 1955 titled A Man Called Peter, about the life of U.S. Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall, born MAY 27, 1902. Peter Marshall emigrated from Scotland, was ordained a Presbyterian minister, and became a U.S. citizen in 1938. A novel titled Christy, written by his wife, Catherine, was made into a CBS television series. His son, Peter Marshall, Jr., was the renowned author of such best-selling books as: The Light and the Glory, From Sea to Shining Sea and Sounding Forth The Trumpet, which chronicle the Providential expansion of liberty throughout American history. On January 13, 1947, U.S. Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall stated: "The choice before us is plain: Christ or chaos, conviction or compromise, discipline or disintegration. I am rather tired of hearing about our rights...The time is come...to hear about responsibilities...America's future depends upon her accepting and demonstrating God's government." Opening a session of the 80th Congress, July 3, 1947, Peter Marshall prayed: "God of our Fathers...may it be ever understood that our Liberty is under God and...to the extent that America honors Thee, wilt Thou bless America."

DAY 2 - DAILY PRAYER (REPENTANCE) - MAY 26, 2011

Father in heaven we pray that you would reign as the one true living God of this land we call America. We pray that the nations love of idolatry , power, and money would come to an end. We pray that people would come back to more of a fear of you, than pleasing the god of this world. We pray that the true manifest power of Jesus would come back to our churches, making the world jealous of your presence and favour on our lives. We pray that you would make our enemies our footstool, and that Jesus Christ would be supreme once again in this great nation. 


We ask for your forgiveness and lack of passion the church has had in the past. We know that religion can not save us, church can not save us, only your blood and the cross give us true power. So know Lord we turn our backs on the world’s system, as the love of many is waxing cold, our love for you if ever growing. We the bride of Christ are preparing for your soon return getting our eyes and attentions off the temporal things to things of the eternal. Save us by your mercy and grace Father , revive the hearts of your children once again we pray in Jesus name amen.

Oscar winning actor Marion Michael Morrison, better known as John Wayne, was born MAY 26, 1907. A U.S.C. football player, he worked behind-the-scenes at Fox Studios, before being discovered by director John Ford, who cast him in epic western and war films. On MAY 26, 1979, Jimmy Carter said: "I have today approved...a specially struck gold medal to John Wayne. For nearly half a century, the Duke has symbolized the American ideals of integrity, courage, patriotism, and strength and has represented to the world many of the deepest values that this Nation respects." Ronald Reagan said November 5, 1984: "I noted the news coverage about the death of my friend, John Wayne. One headline read 'The Last American Hero.'...No one would be angrier than Duke Wayne at the suggestion that he was America's last hero. Just before he died, he said in his unforgettable way, 'Just give the American people a good cause, and there's nothing they can't lick.'" In his album, America-Why I Love Her, 1977, John Wayne stated: "If we want to keep these freedoms, we may have to fight again. God forbid, but if we do, let's always fight to win...Face the flag, son...and thank God it's still there."

Father Almighty,


We praise you and exalt Your Holy Name dear Father.   May Your Name be higher than every name in Heaven and Earth, and across this vast nation.  We humbly thank you for the great and many blessings that You have given us as Americans.  Through Your mighty hand we were given freedoms that are unique on Earth.  Your blessings of prosperity have been lavished on us from our meager beginnings.  You alone have protected us from the scourge of our enemies, and sheltered us from lasting occupation by other nations.  As You once set your captive people free from captivity in Egypt, you have freed us from our chains of slavery to men and other nations.  Eternal Father, You have shared Your greatest gift with this nation, allowing us to know and accept Your one and only Son though our freedom of religion.  While other countries make His name illegal, You have given us the free will to accept Him in our heart…the heart of this nation. Our mouths will speak in praises of the LORD.  Let every creature praise Your holy name for ever and ever.  As a Christian nation; we commit our prayers and supplications to You during these 40 days of prayer, and humbly seek your face in this land.  Please bless us with your open ears, and manifold grace over these 40 days of prayer and fasting.


In the name of your precious Son Jesus,  we commend these words to Your ears as a nation.

    "America is another name for opportunity. Our whole history appears like a last effort of divine Providence in behalf of the human race" wrote poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. Born MAY 25, 1803, Ralph Waldo Emerson was friends with writers Nathaniel Hawthorne and Louisa May Alcott. He composed some of the best loved poems in American literature, including The Concord Hymn, written in 1837 for the dedication of the monument where the battle at North Bridge took place April 19, 1775. Ralph Waldo Emerson's most recognizable stanza is inscribed on the base of Daniel Chester French's Minute Man Statue: "By the rude bridge that arched the flood, Their flag to April's breeze unfurled; Here once the embattled farmers stood; And fired the shot heard round the world. The foe long since in silence slept; Alike the conqueror silent sleeps, And Time the ruined bridge has swept, Down the dark stream that seaward creeps. Upon the conclusion of this special 40-Day prayer event, I would like to personally thank each of you for your faithfulness to this nation. Through our humble prayer and intercession for this county, we hope to be blessed once again by our loving Father. The word of God promises that wherever two or more are gathered in prayer, He will be also (Matthew 18:20). Thank the Lord for His promise to hear our supplication, and answer our fervent prayers. May He richly bless the efforts of our time in seeking His face, and may He shower down the abundant blessings from His great storehouses.

Please celebrate the Independence of this great nation tomorrow (July 4th), and proclaim throughout this land that we are a Christian nation....one that serves the God of God's, King of King's, and Lord of Lord's. May we always live in a land where we are free to pray to the one God, creator of all things.

Our Father,


We wish to thank you for all of Your grace and mercy during these 40 days of prayer.  Our needs and thanks have been lifted before Your throne for America.  Lord, You have told us in Your word that we are aliens to this world, but through Your plans to prosper us, we have been placed throughout this great nation.  Bless this soil, as it belongs to You alone.  May we humbly serve out Your will upon this nation, and have hope that our actions and use of this land are pleasing to You Dear Father.  During this 40 day focus on the needs of America, we have humbly beseeched Your mighty hand in many areas of necessity.  From those who are in authority over us, to our American families.  From the West coast to our East coasts, and the trouble in the Gulf of Mexico. We seek Your grace and mercy all the way to the heartland of this county. 


As our creator, we place our firm trust in You alone to come to our aid.  We know You as healer and redeemer.  Heal Your people and this land.....deliver us from the evil one, and his plans to divide this nation's people.  Allow us to seek Your face, and to fall upon our knees in humility before You.  Rock the very foundation of our greedy hold upon Your great possession.  Oh God, Free us from the snares that Satan has captured this great nation in.  Place us in Your hand alone.......hands of peace and grace.  Return us to a God serving nation....reliant upon You alone for our very lives.  Help us to live lives of holiness and purity.  Strengthen our weakness, and fortify our provision.  Grant this nation a continued liberty, and do not suffer us to defeat by our foes.  We ask for all favor upon this country......in the precious name of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER PROCLAMATION DURING A CHOLERA EPIDEMIC:


At a season when the providence of God has manifested itself
in the visitation of a fearful pestilence which is spreading itself
throughout the land, it is fitting that a people whose reliance has ever
been in His protection should humble themselves before His throne,
and, while acknowledging past transgressions, ask a continuance of
the Divine mercy. It is therefore earnestly recommended that the first
Friday in August be observed throughout the United States as a day of
fasting, humiliation, and prayer.
All business will be sustained in the various branches of the
public service on that day; and it is recommended to persons of all
religious denominations to abstain as far as practical from secular
occupations and to assemble in their respective places of public
worship, to acknowledge the Infinite Goodness which has watched
over our existence as a nation, and so long crowned us with manifold
blessings, and to implore the Almighty in His own good time to stay
the destroying hand which is now lifted up against us.

How the 40-day prayer event was started

May 2009 - Lancaster, Ohio

I received a calling on my heart to continue prayer for this great nation.  Although this nation had just participated in the 'National Day of Prayer', and had received God's blessing as an answer to our prayers; I was told that there was an overabundance of blessings that God wanted to pour out on this nation. The grace of God is endless, but He will only respond to our calls through humble prayer.  It is with that message that I call on fellow Christians to join with me in a commitment to ask for God's blessings.  As a nation, we are losing our Christian heritage, and our moral value of being a God fearing country.  During this 40-day commitment to prayer, I will also incorporate our American Judeo-Christian ideals, which were expressed throughout our 200 plus years as a nation.
